Lillian Kamau is currently pursuing a MA Environmental Law from the University of Nairobi. In addition, she is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Post-graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

She is an Associate in the Real Estate, Commercial and Construction department of the firm and focuses on real estate law, construction and property development. She represents residential and commercial developers and lenders on various aspects of real estate development with a particular emphasis on acquisitions and disposals, due diligence and compliance, development structuring, property finance and leasing.

  • Acting for Hare Krishna Apartments Limited, in connection with the residential development by providing tax and lease structuring advice; drafting agreements for lease, leases, tenancy agreements, preparing, negotiating and overseeing the stamping and registration of leases.
  • Acting for Narayan Holdings Limited in connection with the residential development including drafting and negotiating the agreements for lease, sale agreements, long term leases, tenancy agreements, agency and management agreements.
  • Acting for Zerubbabel Apartments Limited in connection with the residential development including drafting and negotiating the agreements for lease, sale agreements, long term leases, tenancy agreements, agency and management agreements.
  • Acting for various banks in structuring, drafting and perfection of securities including charges, debentures, non-recourse invoice discounting and assignment agreements and advising them on related legal issues worth over Kshs.500 M.
  • Handling general conveyancing matters including sale, transfer, leasing and charging land and giving legal advice on matters touching on land.
  • Advising clients on real estate taxes including stamp duty and capital gains tax.
  • Drafting of commercial contracts i.e. joint venture agreements and installment sales agreements.
  • Research and preparing legal opinions on a range of land and property development issues.
